From the pick-up at the airport to checking out, our experience at Awarta was simply divine. Greeted by warm and friendly staff at the reception which is designed with rich and bold Indonesian furnishings and artwork, we were shown to our large private villa.
The beautiful fusion of traditional Balinese and Chinese architecture felt a world away, yet possessed all the modern conveniences you could want. The indoor outdoor flow in the villa is lovely, though you’ll want to spend most of your time outside, wandering blissfully between the covered daybed, the outdoor entertainment lounge and the plunge pool, with its overhanging frangipani tree dropping soft white and lemon flowers onto the water.
The buildings and vegetation were wonderfully curated by the owners themselves, who have a great passion for interior and landscape design. Rich teak and rosewood timbers feature throughout and are showcased with excellent craftsmanship. There are two restaurants at the resort- one which offers a range of traditional Balinese and Western food, all of which is cooked beautifully, and a Chinese restaurant which offers some of the best Chinese food we had ever had.
The spa experience is outstanding. We had a couples massage and spa treatment which was soothing, relaxing and simply heaven. The spa itself was again, thoughtfully and uniquely designed.
We were encouraged to have a late checkout if we desired, which we did, and were then offered a driver to take us around Seminyak to do some shopping, which made the hustle and bustle much easier to navigate. Nothing was too much trouble.
Upon checkout we were farewelled by all the staff that looked after us, and taken to our next location.
