We are delighted to announce the new list of World Boutique Hotel Award categories for 2013 as:

NOMINATE A HOTEL

Any luxury boutique hotel is eligible for nomination.
Nominations are open to any individual or organisation that wishes to enter a hotel for consideration in the World Boutique Hotel Awards. Self-nominations are accepted.
Hotels can be nominated for one or more of the nine World Boutique Hotel Awards categories (above).
Nominations for the World Boutique Hotel Awards are open until 2nd August 2013.

PARTICIPATE IN THE AWARDS

Every hotel nomination that we receive is considered by our judging panel.
Tailored interviews are conducted with a member of the nominated hotel's managerial staff. Interviews are conducted by an Award Judge in person or by telephone.
The interview is a key part of our Awards process, allowing us to get to know the property and the people behind it. The interview is used to uncover the genuinely unique hotels from the rest. Interview questions are not disclosed prior to the interview.
Hotels successful at the interview stage are invited to participate in an agreed Awards category. Participating hotels are required to pay a fee of £460 for full participation in the Awards process. Payment must be made upon submission of the administration form following successful interview.
Participating hotels can choose to be considered for one award category per participation fee.
All participating hotels are automatically considered for one of six regional awards (Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe, North America and South America).
All participating hotels are automatically considered for the Best Overall Hotel Award.
Entry into future World Boutique Hotel Awards is open to hotels that reached the participation stage in any previous years without the need for repeat interviews.

HOW WE JUDGE

All participating hotels are evaluated by our Awards Committee and shortlists of outstanding hotels are chosen in each category.
Shortlisted hotels are then individually reviewed in person by a World Boutique Hotel Awards judge. This is a vital part of our Awards process, allowing our judges to decide first hand on how the hotel made them feel, our most important judging criteria.
During the judge’s evaluation visit, elements of design and concept, dining and entertainment, facilities, location and service will be considered. But what we are really looking for is the flair, character and feel of a place that makes it unique.
All individual judge reviews are considered by our Awards Panel, who are responsible for making the final decisions and choosing winners in each category. The Awards Panel may choose multiple winners in each category.
The full list of shortlisted hotels will be announced on 30th September 2013.
Category winners, regional winners, and the Best Overall Hotel Award will be announced at the World Boutique Hotel Awards Annual Ceremony, to be held in London on 28th November 2013.
